About Bart

What is the reason you choose to work with anyone? General quality of work taken aside, I am willing to bet that you make this decision based on personality. Let’s get to know each other!

Hey, I'm Bart.

I photograph people and the worlds they build—brands, businesses, ideas, lives. I help people and brands show up at their best—bold, authentic, and full of life. My job is to help you show up clearly, confidently, and truthfully—so you can do your best work, connect with the right people, and feel good in your own skin.

I work with individuals and organisations who care about meaning, mission, and the human side of success. From solopreneurs and startups to nonprofits and legacy brands, I help you tell your story visually—with honesty, character, and craft.

Whether you’re building a business, redefining your image, or simply ready to fall in love with yourself a little more, I’m here to make that visible.

I create images that make people feel something. Confidence. Connection. Pride. Joy. “Damn, I look good!” energy.

Photography, for me, is not just about aesthetics—it’s about identity. It’s about how we see ourselves and how others experience us. I want my clients to feel not just seen but understood. Empowered. Real.

Because what excites me isn’t just how something looks—but what it means.

Why I Do This - My Mission

At the core, I help people and brands LEVEL UP—with visuals that feel like you, on your best day.

I want my work to help you:

1. Feel more confident in who you are

2. Express your values with clarity

3. Attract the right kind of attention

4. Build self-respect and momentum

5. Fall in love with your own story

Photography is my way of making people feel more confident, seen, and proud of who they are and what they’ve built. That’s the real power of this work. When I photograph someone, I want them to look at the results and think:

“Wow. That’s me.”

Not in a fake-polished way. In a fully themselves, fully powerful way.

I believe visuals can change how we feel about ourselves—and how others respond to us. So yes, I create beautiful images. But more importantly, I help people and brands step into their full presence.

I help people see the best version of themselves. I help people see themselves more clearly, and I help the world see them more truthfully.

If you leave our shoot feeling more confident, more “you,” and ready to take over the world (or just that Monday meeting)—mission accomplished.

That’s what I’m here for. That’s why I do what I do.

My Approach

My work helps businesses grow, brands stand out, and individuals step into their power. And I do it through storytelling, collaboration, and a healthy dose of nerdy precision.

I’ve always been fascinated by how things work—from cameras to companies, identities to ecosystems. I love seeing how people build things—brands, communities, movements, businesses with purpose—and I love being part of helping them grow.

I’m fascinated by systems and structure, but also by energy, intuition, and connection.

I’m a hybrid creature. My strength is in bridging worlds. I’m part artist, part engineer. Part old soul, part overgrown punk kid. I bring both structure and spontaneity. Logic and feeling. I listen deeply, plan well—and then make space for magic.

A technical humanist, if you will. I blend technical skill with artistic intuition, and I bring a background that’s a bit…unusual.

I studied Computer Science and earned a Master’s degree from a Technical University specialising in graphic design and branding. I love logic, design, and problem-solving just as much as I love colour, composition, and improvisation. I’m a bridge between the technical and the artistic. A jack of all trades—and I consider that a strength, not a flaw.

Values That Guide My Work

Courage

It takes guts to be seen. Step outside of your comfort zone. Show yourself.

Empowerment

I want you to leave our shoot walking taller.

Authenticity (Honesty)

My work doesn’t aim to “polish” people into something they’re not. It’s about showing the truth—and making it shine. Be real, always. Even when it’s awkward. Show the human behind the brand. Let’s show some personality.

Sustainability

I’m committed to working with and for businesses that respect people, animals and the planet.

Integrity

Say what you mean. Do what you say.

Connection

Good things happen when people feel safe, seen, and understood.

Craft

Do good work. Take the time to get it right. I care about every detail, from lighting to colour grading to how your posture feels.

Grit

Nothing is impossible if you stick to your guns.

Creativity

Never stop exploring or experimenting. Keep learning, keep playing.

My Background

I grew up in the mountains and spent my life collecting experiences that shape how I see the world—and how I capture it.

I’ve been behind the camera for over two decades. I started with film, back when every shot had to count, and over time explored almost every genre. I photographed everything—from street scenes to sweaty concerts, quiet landscapes to loud weddings and events, static fine art to dynamic sport shots—you name it. Eventually, my path led me to work that’s both creatively fulfilling and strategically useful: personal branding and commercial visual storytelling.

Before that? I’ve lived many lives. I’ve worked as:

  • A carpenter’s assistant
  • A rickshaw rider
  • A bicycle courier
  • A web and graphic designer
  • A background actor on film sets.

Random, True, Slightly Strange Things About Me

Now, some weird but true facts. Let’s be honest—bios are better with some weirdness.

  • I shook hands with the Dalai Lama, met Sir Tim Berners-Lee (the creator of the internet) and filmed Vivek Oberoi (the Brad Pitt of Bollywood) at his Mumbai villa.
  • I once told Harry Styles (awkwardly, one-on-one in a climbing gym bathroom) that I don’t listen to his music but I respect him. He did not laugh (he was polite, I was honest, it was weird). We shook hands and he left promptly.
  • Other famous people I’ve met include: Jimmy Wales (the founder of Wikipedia), Jane Goodall, Benedict Cumberbatch, Kevin Spacey, Gary Vaynerchuk, Patrik Baboumian, Brendan Brazier, and more.
  • I’ve photographed Metallica, David Hasselhoff, Tony Hawk, Eliud Kipchoge, Liza Minelli, Gotye, Rita Ora, P.O.D., Counting Crows, Iron & Wine, Gojira, Funeral For A Friend, Hell Yeah, Coheed & Cambria, among others.
  • I’ve met skateboarding legends Steve Caballero and Christian Hosoi as well as melodic punk legends – Millencolin and Bodyjar.
  • I used to be quite introverted. I am an ambivert now and I actually thrive on contact with people.

  • I graduated from a primary music school on piano and later picked up clarinet, saxophone and guitar.
  • My music taste is pretty much eclectic. I listen to anything from classical to drum & bass to metal to country.
  • I love screamo, emo, punk, and hardcore.
  • WinAmp, last.fm, MySpace, purevolume, punkrockvids.net… if these names ring a bell, we’ll get along just fine.
  • I thrive in mosh pits.
  • I have mild tinnitus from too many loud gigs.
  • I am very bad at memorising song lyrics but I usually remember band member names and random things about my favourite artists.

  • Growing up in the mountains, I used to ride mountain bikes a lot.
  • I love action sports.
  • I have been skateboarding since I was 9 years old.
  • In my teens I was hit by a car while skateboarding downhill and walked away without injuries. You should see the car though.

  • I love freeride snowboarding.
  • I surf a little bit. Working on this one.
  • I am a paraglider pilot.
  • I survived a serious paragliding accident.
  • As you can probably tell by now, I am definitely not risk averse.
  • I can touch my nose with my tongue and do one-legged squats. At the same time. Probably.
  • Personally, I’m pretty wild. Kids love me. Still a big kid inside.
  • Don’t let my looks fool you, I can out-eat most humans.

I’m a paradox. But aren’t we all?
